<p>A stereophonic reproducing device which reproduces 2-channel stereophonic signals and is suitably used for mini-components, etc. Main speaker (120L, 120R) and auxiliary speakers (130L, 130R) are used, with a left auxiliary speaker (130L) located on the left side of a left main speaker (120L) a specified distant apart and a right auxiliary speaker (130R) on the right side of a right main speaker (120R) a specified distance apart. The left main speaker is driven by a left channel sound signal (SL), the left auxiliary speaker by a time-delayed left channel sound signal (SLd), the right main speaker by a right channel sound signal (SR), and the right auxiliary speaker by a time-delayed right channel sound signal (SRd). Listening not only in the front middle of the left and right main speakers but even in a position deviated left or right can localize the sound image of a vocal sound at the mid-point between the left and right main speakers and can pinpoint the precise location of sound images of vocal sounds and individual musical instruments, thereby reproducing a deep sound stage continuous over the entire span between the left and right auxiliary speakers to provide a pleasant stereophonic sound.</p> |
