Apparatus for transdermal injection of substances, into the skin has at least one jet linked to pressure flow medium flow. The jet is in a housing which can be evacuated, with an opening which can be laid on the skin. The jet is aligned with the opening so that, when the housing is evacuated the skin is drawn through the opening to lie against the jet. The jet can be closed and secured at the opening side. The gap can be varied between the jet (28) and the housing opening (24), through an axial jet (28) movement. The jet (28) is held in its holder (32,34) by a spring (38) in the first position. The jet (28) is moved out of the first position, against the spring (38) pressure, by a setting screw (40) at the housing (4). The housing can have an attachment section with the opening (24), which can be exchanged for another attachment of a different size. The housing (4) has a dividing wall (44) near the opening (24), which is permeable for air and the pressure medium, with the jet (28) passing through it. The dividing wall (44) has a mesh structure, to slide into the housing (4) at the opening side up to a defined position. The housing (4) has at least one pressure compensation system (50,52), using a manual valve (52) and a valve (50) which is operated automatically if the under pressure in the housing (4) drops below a defined level. The jet (28) opens out in a funnel shape towards the opening (24). The edge (30) of the jet (28), at the opening side, is at an angle to the jet axis, and carries a seal (31) round it. A further seal (26) is round the edge of the opening (24). A manual switch (56) at the housing (4) triggers the release of the pressure medium against the skin (54), or the switch (56) operates automatically when the skin (54) bears against the jet (28) at a defined pressure. The housing (4) has a section (6) shaped as a hand grip, with a coupling (16) for a current flow between a vacuum pump and the housing (4). A further coupling (18) at the grip (6) gives a flow connection between the pressure unit and a pressure line (20) in the housing (4) leading to the jet (28). The grip (6) section is fitted to a second housing section (8) which has a cylindrical shape, and at right angles to it, with the jet (28), the dividing wall (44) and the opening (24). The pressure medium is oxygen. The housing (4) is pref. transparent, of glass or plastics.
