Device for closing a building opening, especially shutters, comprises a plate (1) made from jointed segments which can be rolled out in the form of a spiral coil (3) on a winding shaft (2). The winding shaft is arranged in a casing (8) bounded by lateral screen caps (7, 7a) receiving the bearing forces and is driven by a tubular motor (9) which is inserted in the winding shaft and held on a supporting part (11) screwed to a neighboring screen cap (7). The plate coil is connected on the engine side to a deviating element having the winding shaft. The support part is formed as a plate-like component with a central pot formed as the engine bearing (12) and a flange (5) connected to the plate coil.
