The stretch wrapper for wrapping a loaded pallet (2) with sheet (3) has a stretching head (4) which carries a roll (7) of sheet. A linear robot (5) moves the head with three degrees of freedom around the pallet, along a horizontal axis (A), a vertical axis (B) and around an axis (C) parallel to the axis of the roll of sheet. Independent claims are included for: (a) a method of stretch wrapping a pallet using the wrapper; and (b) a device for carrying out the method comprising a roller conveyor (11) and a fork-lift (13) to move the pallet into position for wrapping.
