A short-circuit control apparatus is accordingly changed into short-circuit condition in short-circuiting a pumping unit and a reservoir. Wheel cylinders are made to operate to connect pressure control valve gears to both pumping unit and reservoir corresponding to the operation of a partial wheel cylinder at one time when need to operate one wheel cylinder becomes unnecessary. The pressure control valve gears allow brake fluid to flow from the reservoir to each wheel cylinder when in pressure reduction condition, and allow brake fluid to flow from the pumping unit to each wheel cylinder when in boosting condition. The pumping unit pumps up brake fluid from the reservoir. The wheel cylinders, which operate by hydraulic pressure, are respectively provided between the pumping unit and the reservoir.
