<p>A light filtering assembly (14) for filtering an input beam of light having a plurality of desired and undesired wavelength components. The purpose is to provide an output beam having only desired wavelength components. The filtering assembly comprises an input, filtering, and output section. The input section divides the input beam (10) into a plurality of polarized monochromatic beamlets that travel along a corresponding plurality of spatially separated beam paths (16). The polarized monochromatic beamlets comprise a plurality of beamlets corresponding to the desired and undesired wavelength components of the input beam. The filtering section is disposed in the paths of the beamlets to allow the desired beamlets through and block the undesired. The output section is disposed in the paths of the desired beamlets exiting the filtering section and combines the desired beamlets to form the output beam. The output section is substantially identical to the input section.</p> |
