A dry load test apparatus (40) has resistor main bodies (57R, 57S, and 57T) for high-voltage load test constituted by flat resistor assemblies (Ri, Si, and Ti), respectively, each of which comprises a number of long resistor elements (rj) planarly arranged parallel with spaces between them and connected in series at their ends to form strings of resistor elements in su ch a way that the corresponding resistor elements (rj) of the resistor assembli es (Ri, Si, and Ti) are connected to each other. The resistor assemblies (Ri, S i, and Ti) are respectively stacked to form the resistor main bodies with space s between them in such a way that the flat faces of the resistor assemblies ar e parallel. The dry load test apparatus (40) is also provided with first switching members (SWaij and Swbij) one end of each of which is connected to an end of the corresponding resistor element (rj) and which form rows (SWai and SWbi) of the switching members, and inter-assembly conductive members (C ai and Cbi) which interconnect the other ends of the first switching members (SWaij and Swbij) of the rows (SWai and SWbi), and a vacuum circuit-breaker (high-voltage switch) (86) that connects some of the inter-assembly conducti ve members (Cai and Cbi) to a power source (three-phase AC generator (88)) unde r test.
