A web tracking and repositioning apparatus having at least one pivoting conveyor roll (10) pivotable and rotatably supported at its center about a bearing assembly (18) through which extends a longitudinal fixed shaft (12) with said bearing assembly connecting to a coaxially mounted sleeve (30) positioned at its weighted center about the bearing assembly, extending outward toward fixed support members (152), and interconnected to a pair of guide members or cams (414, 416) mounted about the fixed shaft. The guide members (414, 416) are eccentrically mounted about the shaft at the opposite ends of the sleeve and engage opposite end cap members (402, 404) via a pin (412) and an elongated slot (410). Misalignment of a web conveyed over the conveyor roll causes forward movement of one of the guide members engaged by the web, subsequent eccentric rotation of the guide member and pivoting of the conveyor roll to steer the web back to a central location on the conveyor roll. |
