In process management, a system for managing resources comprises distributed units which negotiate. The units exchange bids which have multicomponent relationships embedded or referenced. The units may be simple trading units or may incorporate an auction mechanism (305) and the auction mechanism may stockpile goods so as to generate a trading solution between two trading units which would not otherwise be reached. Because the bids incorporate relationships instead of single values or a single price/amount relationship, solutions can be reached more quickly. |
