PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition capable of fixing a keratinous fiber, especially the hair so as to have perpetuity and satisfying cosmetic characteristics more superior than these of a conventional composition. SOLUTION: This cosmetic composition contains at least one film-forming polymer or a mixture of the film-forming polymers in a cosmetically acceptable medium. The film-forming polymer or the mixture of the film-forming polymers has mechanism characteristics defined by (i) >47 deg. attaching angleαor (ii) when theαis equal to or larger than 90 deg., <5 N maximum detachment force Fmax at the polymer concentration of the composition in an aqueous alcoholic medium containing >=20 vol.% ethanol.
