PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for trimming tire spews which can reduce the residual height of spews and remove them without hurting the surface of a tire, and make the cut surfaces of the spews good and the appearance of the tire good, and to provide an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: In the trimming apparatus, approximately in the middle in the longitudinal direction of a frame 1 formed in a hollow square shape, two rotary shafts 2a, 2b are installed in parallel across a space part 1a, and both ends of the shafts 2a, 2b are supported freely rotatably through bearing members 3. To the shafts 2a, 2b, a pair of right and left lengthy rotors 4 for holding/ cutting the spews Q and transmission gears 5a, 5b are fitted at prescribed intervals, and the gears 5a, 5b are prevented from being engaged with each other.
