PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform work eliminating necessity for arrangement switching a chuck or the like for clamping a workpiece. SOLUTION: This cutting work comprises a first process forming an intermediate workpiece 20 of first step by holding a first clamp margin part 21 of the workpiece having the first/second clamp margin parts 21, 22 of the same external shape in both end parts to perform prescribed cutting work of the workpiece in a condition leaving the second clamp margin part 22, second process forming an intermediate workpiece of second step succeeding the second clamp margin part 22 to a part of the last shape by performing prescribed cutting work relating to an exposed surface after cut removing the first clamp margin part 21 in a condition holding the second clamp margin part 22 with the intermediate workpiece 20 of the first step inverted, and a third process obtaining the final workpiece by cut removing the part of the last shape from the second clamp margin part 22 leaving it as in a clamped condition.
