PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst which, when mixed into a petroleum fuel, improves the combustion efficiency thereof, enables the fuel consumption of automobiles to be reduced by 10-20%, and can purify a pollutive exhaust gas. SOLUTION: Zeolite impregnated with Aspergillus bacteria and dried is used as the catalyst. The catalyst is impregnated with an aqueous nutrition solution and then immersed in a petroleum fuel for 2-3 weeks to cut and decompose the carbon chains of petroleum hydrocarbons. If necessary, a radiation catalyst and a metal chelate liquid peroxide are immersed together with the catalyst in the petroleum fuel to accelerate the cutting and decomposition of the carbon chains. Such a petroleum fuel containing active bacteria is used as a fuel for automobiles, trains, airplanes, ships, and incineration furnaces, improving fuel consumption and purifying an exhaust gas.
