PURPOSE: An apparatus for providing a thermal alarm signal in a skin contact type terminal and a method for controlling therof are provided to offer an apparatus to provide a thermal alarm signal in a skin contact type terminal and a method to control controlling the apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A control unit checks whether an alarm request is generated(711). If the alarm request is generated, the control unit reads the alarm signal setup area of a memory(713) and checks whether the set alarm signal is a thermal alarm signal(715). If the set alarm signal is not the thermal alarm signal, the control unit checks whether it is a sound alarm signal(717). If the sound alarm signal is set, the drives a buzzer and generates the sound alarm signal(719). If the set alarm signal is not the sound alarm signal, the control unit drives a vibration motor and generates a vibration alarm signal(721). In case that the thermal alarm signal is set, the control unit checks whether the set thermal alarm signal is a cooling alarm signal(723). If it is the cooling alarm signal, the control unit supplies current to a DC source in a preset current direction and generates the cooling alarm signal(725). In case that the set thermal alarm signal is a heating alarm signal, not the cooling alarm signal(723), the control unit supplies current to the DC source in the current direction contrary to the cooling alarm signal and generates the heating alarm signal(727).
