PURPOSE: A system and a method for correcting a ROM are provided to store ROM correction data and program at a memory in order to face a ROM correction error caused by an address change, and to enable a microcomputer to perform a ROM correction based on the stored data so that it can prevent a wrong operation of a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a ROM correction data storage(20) and a microcomputer(10). The ROM correction data storage(20) stores a ROM correction program and data. The microcomputer(10) includes a ROM(11) and a RAM(12). The ROM(11) stores an operation program. The microcomputer(10) performs the ROM correction program stored in the ROM correction data storage(20) in place of the operation program stored in the ROM according to the ROM correction data stored in the ROM correction data storage(20). The ROM correction data storage(20) is formed in a designated area of an EEPROM.
