PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time and labor for connecting a column and a beam by forming a connection section with a good execution property between the column and the beam of a steel structure. SOLUTION: An upper story column 4 and a lower story column 5 made of an square steel pipe column are arranged to butt against each other, and an inner insertion member 7 constituted of a diaphragm 9 located in the upper story column 4, a diaphragm 10 located in the lower story column 5, and a connecting material 8 connecting both diaphragms 9, 10 is arranged from the inside of the upper story column 4 to the inside of the lower story column 5. H-steel beams 3 facing each other across the butt portion 6 between the upper story column 4 and the lower story column 5 are arranged to butt against each other via beam end plates 13. The upper flanges of the H-steel beams 3 are located at positions corresponding to the diaphragm 9 in the upper story column 4, the lower flanges are located at positions corresponding to the diaphragm 10 in the lower story column 5, and the beam end plates 13 are fastened together by bolts 15 penetrating the square steel pipe columns.
