PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mouthpiece for extrusion molding a honeycomb structure having a long lifetime, excellent durability and good workability and capable of manufacturing at a low cost and a method for manufacturing it. SOLUTION: In a mouthpiece member having a molding groove and a ceramic body supply hole communicating with the groove, the member is formed of a quenching hardening type martensite stainless steel, and the inner surfaces of the groove and the hole are covered with a wear resistant material by means of a chemical vapor deposition method.
