PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove scale in a short time without being affected by irregularities of a ground metal in the steel pipe inner surface. SOLUTION: When a swirl flow of polishing materials is made to collide with the steel pipe inner surface to perform blast treatment, the pipe inner surface circumferential direction of the swirl flow is reversed. In this case, the pipe inner surface circumferential direction of the swirl flow is intermittently reversed, the swirl flow is directly generated on the polishing materials, and simultaneously, a steel pipe is rotated in the opposite direction to the swirl flow of the polishing materials. Therefore, the influence of irregularities of a metal ground in the steel pipe inner surface can be effectively prevented in removing scale, and the process time can be shortened. The descaling efficiency is improved and the treatment time can be shortened by directly generating the swirl flow on the polishing materials, and simultaneously, rotating the steel pipe in the opposite direction to the swirl flow of the polishing materials.
