PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens grinding method and a lens grinding device capable of forming a lens edge having a constant size in on relation to a curvature of curve of a lens to be grounded. SOLUTION: This lens grinding device is provided with a carriage 20; lens rotation shafts 22a, 22b provided on a tip end of this carriage 20, a grinding wheel 11, and an axis distance adjusting means C for adjusting an axis distance between the lens rotation shafts 22a, 22b and a grinding wheel shaft. A finishing grinding wheel part 12 having slant surfaces 12A, 12B is provided on the grinding wheel 11 and one side of back sides of edge surface of the lens L to be grounded is contacted with the finishing grinding wheel part 12 and the slant surface 12A and is subjected to a grinding work. Thereafter, a control part for controlling a movement in a right and left direction of the axis distance adjusting means C and the carriage 20 is provided such that the other side of the edge surface is contacted with the finishing grinding wheel part 12 and the slant surface 12B and is subjected to grinding work.
