PURPOSE: An Ethernet packet switching test apparatus and the method for the same between MAC(Medium Access Control) and physical layer are provided to test the Ethernet switching chip by implementing MAC as one body in Ethernet network, so that there is no need to prepare a separate HDL. CONSTITUTION: An Ethernet file unit(200) stores the file defining the Ethernet packet. An Ethernet read file drive unit(204) reads the Ethernet packet information from the Ethernet file unit. A physical layer drive unit(210) makes the Ethernet packet inputted from the Ethernet read file drive unit drive to each port corresponding to the physical layer. A reception forecast FIFO(First In First Out) unit(214) checks that the information of transmission Ethernet packet inputted from the physical layer drive unit coincides with the information of reception Ethernet packet transmitted, Ethernet-switched and then output from the physical layer drive unit to the MAC. |
