PURPOSE: A traffic information system is provided to provide a required line and traffic information in several foreign languages in real time by performing an exact information retrieval desired by a user using a numerical map and a GIS. CONSTITUTION: A computer with data base is installed in a terminal, and a computer keyboard is prepared so that a user can determine a desired area or a path to a destination through a retrieval method. Through this keyboard, the user can perform every kinds of retrieval, and can obtain the information through other retrieval method when the desired output is not output. Because the numerical map is constituted with images mainly to provide the information to the user, a pointing device like a mouse or a joystick is installed for the user to move on the map easily. Through the pointing device, the user can enlarge or scale down the desired region, and can move to a new retrieval window.
