PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite porous film of which the reliability and the safely at the time of usage are high, and in addition, which is excellent in a fuse function by introducing a porous layer by an extraction method to a porous layer for base material by a drawing method. SOLUTION: This composite porous film has numerous fine through pores. For the composite porous film, a porous film manufactured by a drawing method is made the base material. Then, the base material and a viscous solution for which a polyethylene is dissolved with an organic solvent are brought into contact with to obtain the composite porous film.
