PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of adjusting a sheet obtaining period. SOLUTION: An image forming device 100 includes an image forming engine 110 for fixing an image to a sheet of a recording medium. A user of the image forming device 100 inputs a printing request including total number of printed sheets with a user interface 120. The sheet feeder 200 separates the sheet from the top of a stack, obtains this separated sheet, and transfers the separated sheet to an image forming engine 110. Based on continuous average and standard deviation of a predetermined number of already well fed sheets, a control circuit 300 controls the sheet obtaining period. The control circuit also adjusts a position of the stack and controls a take away carrier roll that receives the obtained sheets and transfers the sheets to the image forming engine 110.
