PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extruder capable of minimizing the stop time of an extrusion molding apparatus when the changeover of a resin becoming a raw material is performed to realize the high rate of operation. SOLUTION: An extruder is constituted of a plurality of barrel units 10a, 10b, a moving stand 40 on which these barrel units are mounted and a common drive mechanism. Each of the barrel units 10a, 10b is constituted of a barrel 11, a screw 12 and a barrel head 13. The barrel units 10a, 10b are arranged on the moving stand 40 in parallel to each other and can be moved on rails 41 in the direction vertical to the axes of barrels 11. The barrel units 10a, 10b can be connected to and separated from the drive mechanism 30 by a coupling and can be alternately connected to the drive mechanism 30 by moving the moving stand 40.
