PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition that is a granular detergent effective in the removal of oily soil derived from sebum. SOLUTION: This high bulk density detergent composition comprises (a) an amino carboxylic acid derivative type chelating agent having three or more carboxyl groups in the molecule, (b) a polycarboxylic acid and/or a salt thereof and (c) an alumino silicate, wherein (a)+(b)+(c)= 15-25 wt.%; (a)/ (a)+(b)+(c)}>=0.10; (b)/ (a)+(b)+(c)}=0.10-0.30; and (c)/ (a)+(b)+(c)}=0.10-0.60.
