PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-fuel ratio control device for an internal combustion engine to maintain stability as the whole of an air-fuel feedback control system at high precision by more accurately considering a delay in a time of detection by an air-fuel sensor. SOLUTION: During operation of an EGR, not only an intake air amount but also an EGR amount is considered. Thereby, a total amount (a total gas amount) of gas introduced in a cylinder is detected. Detection of a total gas amount is directly carried out based on a cylinder pressure or an intake pressure or carried out by adding an intake air amount to an EGR estimation amount determined based on the opening of a target EGR control valve or the opening of an actual EGR control valve. From a total gas amount determined in a manner described above, a correction value to correct an amount equivalent to a phase delay of a feedback control amount is led out.
