PURPOSE: A supervisory video tape recorder providing communication function is provided to increase convenience of supervisory apparatus application and to remove an unnecessary waste of a time by watching the recorded picture or a real time recording picture even at remote location through communication network. CONSTITUTION: A compression apparatus(10) makes a compression coding an image that is taken a photograph from a moving camera in designated method. A storage apparatus stores a digital image data that is made a compression coding. A decoding apparatus decodes, regenerates and outputs the stored digital image data into an original image. A communication apparatus is connected to an external indicating apparatus, selects one of image which is stored or is taken a photograph, and then transmits to the external indicating apparatus through the communication network. The communication apparatus is a connection interface of LAN(local area network).
