PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of accurately determining a jam when an image is copied and printed to a recording sheet. SOLUTION: Cassettes 2-4 for storing sheets are disposed in a body case 1a of this image forming device 1, and respective cassettes are provided with sheet detecting sensors 5a-5c for detecting existence of the sheets. A manual paper feeding portion 7 also includes a sheet detecting sensor. A paper feeding roller 10 has a paper feeding sensor 11, and a paper discharging roller 16 has a paper discharging sensor 17. When paper is fed by each cassette or the manual paper feeding, the size of the sheet is set, and time from ON to OFF of the paper feeding sensor 11 is measured, and length of the sheet is measured based on a peripheral velocity of the paper feeding roller 10. When the size of an actually fed sheet is different from the size of a set sheet, timer value of a timer for detecting the jam is charged. |
