PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR control device for an compression ignition type internal combustion engine, that can sufficiently restrain knocking in high load operation and can ensure stability of combustion in low load operation, resulting in enlarging the operational region in the high load operation and in the low load operation. SOLUTION: This EGR control device 1 of a compression ignition type internal combustion engine 3 can return exhaust gas to an intake pipe 7. The EGR control device 1 comprises: a first EGR pipe 12a for returning a high NOx concentration first exhaust gas, which is taken out from a specific part in an exhaust pipe 10, to the intake pipe 7, a second EGR pipe 12b for returning lower NOx concentration second exhaust gas, of which the NOx concentration is lower than that of the first exhaust gas, to the intake pipe 7, an ECU 2 for detecting a load state, a crank angle sensor 20, an absolute pressure sensor 21 in the intake pipe, the ECU 2 for controlling returning amounts QEGR1 and QEGR2 of the first exhaust gas and the second exhaust gas, depending on the detected load state; a first EGR control valve 13, and a second EGR control valve 15. |
