PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire treads having a balanced combination of resistance to low-temperature brittleness, gripping properties on a wet road and rolling resistance. SOLUTION: This rubber composition used for tire treads comprises: 100 pts.wt. in total of raw material rubbers consisting of 10-50 pts.wt. of (A) a styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR) with a styrene content of 30-50% and a vinyl content of 5-20% in the butadiene portion, or (A') an SBR or a vinylbutadiene rubber with a styrene content of <=20% and a vinyl content of 60-80% in the butadiene portion as well as 50-90 pts.wt. of (B) an SBR with a styrene content of 5-14% and a vinyl content of 30-60% in the butadiene portion, or (B') an SBR with a styrene content of >=15% and a vinyl content of <=10% in the butadiene portion; 40-100 pts.wt. of a reinforcing filler; and 10-50 pts.wt, of a plasticizer, wherein the relationship between Tg (A') of the rubber (A') and Tg (B') of the rubber (B') is represented by: Tg (A')>Tg (B').
