PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator driving device having a compact figure for increasing the degree of freedom in mounting in an underground pit. SOLUTION: The elevator driving device comprises an input shaft 116, an intermediate shaft 117 and an output shaft 119 arranged in parallel to one another in a gear box 115 of a speed reducer 111, a first speed change stage 121 having gears meshing each other is provided input shaft 116 and the intermediate shaft 117, a second speed change stage 122 having gears meshing each other provided between the intermediate shaft 117 and the output shaft 119, the shaft end of the output shaft 119 being protruded to the outside of one side face of the gear box 115, and a motor 112 joined to the other end face of the gear box 115. The shaft cores of the input shaft, the intermediate shaft and the output shaft are arranged at the peaks of a triangle, the output shaft of the motor, as an input shaft, is inserted directly into the gear box, and the end of the motor output shaft inserted into the gear box is supported by a bearing.
