An apparatus for the hybridization of cells comprises a hybridization chamber (1) which is equipped at its base with a frit (4) and with a filter (3) which rests on the frit (4). The filter is fixed, via a sealing ring (8), by a bushing with an external screw thread which can be screwed into a second chamber (2). The second chamber (2) can be heated and the hybridization chamber (1) can be closed so that it is light-tight. Means for removing liquids (6) by suction adjoin the underside of the glass frit (4).
