PURPOSE: A portable phone and a method for transmitting and receiving user information between the portable phones are provided to offer a portable phone capable of executing direct communication without the necessity of going through an exchange by sharing user information at a short distance. CONSTITUTION: A portable phone 'A' pushes a specific button to send information to a portable phone 'B'(410). The portable phone 'A' sets up a packet containing information for a protocol version and a service type and transmits it to the portable phone 'B'(420). The portable phone 'B' checks the message contents contained in the received packet and confirms whether the received protocol version is consistent with its own version(430). If the protocol versions are in accord, the portable phone 'B' sets up a "receiving possible" control information packet and transmits it to the portable phone 'A'(440). Receiving the "receiving possible" control information packet, the portable phone 'A' selects user information to transmit(450). The portable phone 'A' generates a packet containing user information and transmits it to the portable phone 'B'(460). If transmission is completed(470), the portable phone 'A' transmits a transmission "end" packet to the portable phone 'B'(472). The portable phone 'B', receiving the transmission end packet, sends an ACK(ACKnowledge) signal to the portable phone 'A'(474). |
