PURPOSE: A digital sound record/reproduction apparatus which is capable of a multi codec upgrade and a service method thereof through internet server are provided to listen to the various digital music and internet broadcasting and to use as an internet phone by adding an EPROM type memory to a decoder part CONSTITUTION: A various codec is used and is possible to be upgraded by storing or deleting or installing newly a various reproduction codec addng an EP-ROM(Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) type codec memory(52) to a decoding part(50). The decoding part(50) supports a various codec and is possible to upgrade receiving a command of a micom(20) from a digital sound record/reproduction apparatus(100). The codec memory(52) is connected to the decoding part(50), and stores, erases, and rewrite a various codec. A management program operates the digital sound record/reproduction apparatus(100) remotely on a PC(200), and indicates the state of the micom(20), and manages a music file, codec and miscellaneous operation contents, and plays a role as a media with the management server through the internet. A management server(400) manages the digital acoustic record reproduction apparatus(100), and supplies the music file, codec and miscellaneous operation contents. An internet service method supplies a management function of the digital sound record/reproduction apparatus in order to download the desired music and to upgrade a new codec.
