PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a cutting chip divided by vibration cutting in a diametric direction to control a cutting length. SOLUTION: An end face E of a workpiece W is in-feed cut. A rotational speed n(ϕ) is set by a relation n(ϕ)=Vc.1000/π(d1-2f.ϕ/2π)} so as to fixedly control a peripheral speed Vc of a work diameter di regardless of its change by a cutting blade 2. Assumingα=θd/(θd+θu), from parameter m (m=0, 1, 2...) of number of division of cutting chip relating toα, rotational speed n(ϕ) and workpiece rotational speed, a vibration frequency fri of a vibration tool 1 is obtained by a relation fri=(m+α)n(ϕ)/60. Here, the vibration frequency fri is set by controlling the parameter m so as to prevent the vibration frequency fri from exceeding a maximum vibration frequency frmax. The parameter m is set the lowest value to 0, the vibration frequency fri is larger than the maximum vibration frequency frmax, to the vibration frequency fri=frmax when m=0.
