PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method and system to decrease or remove the influence of the measurement errors, and to operate the actual engine in a condition nearer optimum conditions. SOLUTION: An engine operation which does not attain optimum operating condition (for example, acceleration) is identified, and a measuring error related to the engine operation not attaining the optimum is presumed, and the engine control logic is adjusted on the basis of the presumed value of measuring error (106), and the engine operation is re-evaluated (108). As one example, the method is executed with an engine control device 14 by programming a control processor, so that these processes described are executed.
