PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium, having a touch (surface feeling) equal to that of an art paper or a coat paper, excellent in glossy property, color reproducing property, clarity, ink absorbing property, water resistant property and surface strength, inexpensive and capable of supplying much amount of the same. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording medium is constituted of a substrate, an ink absorbing layer, provided on one side surface of the substrate and consisting of the principal constituents of a pigment and a binder, a color development layer, consisting of the principal constituent of a chain cationic colloidal silica, and a glossy layer, consisting of the principal constituent of a water soluble high polymer, which are provided on the substrate sequentially. |
