PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the carbon concentration of molten iron by which the yield of a carburizing agent is high and the hitting ratio is good in the case of adjusting the carbon concentration by excessively decarburizing the molten iron and adding the carburizing agent. SOLUTION: (1) In the adjusting method of the carbon concentration of the molten iron by decarburizing the molten iron over the lower limit in the target concentration range of the carbon adding hydrocarbon into the molten iron and carburizing, the carbon adding speed expressed in terms of the adding speed of the hydrocarbon is <=0.2 kg/min.mass ton of the molten iron. (2) In the adjusting method of the carbon concentration in the molten iron by executing the deoxidizing treatment after decarburizing the molten iron over the lower limit in the target concentration range of the carbon an adding the hydrocarbon into the molten iron and carburizing, the carbon adding speed expressed in terms of the adding speed of the hydrocarbon is <=0.2 kg/min.mass ton of the molten iron. (3) The hydrocarbon is added into the molten iron from a flowing passage in a multi-tube except the outermost tube in the multi-tube.
