<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machine for cutting and a cutting method by which the flow rate of an applied inert gas expensive as an assist gas is reduced and which realizes cutting in a non-oxidizing state. SOLUTION: This is the laser beam machine 1 cuts an object Z by using an oscillated laser beam L. At the tip of a torch 5 provided with a condenser lens 3 converging oscillated laser beams L and a port 13 for introducing an assist gas 12 consisting of an inert gas, an exhaust nozzle 4a for spouting out the insert gas as the above introduced assist gas 12 is arranged. By installing a nozzle 4 constituted by forming a tapered gas flow passage 4b toward the tip exhaust nozzle 4a, the laser beam machine 1 for cutting is formed. The object is cut by setting the nozzle tip position of this laser beam machine 1 for cutting to 0.5-0.7 mm from the surface of the object.</p> |
