PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaner capable of cleaning the inner peripheral surface of a cavity consisting of a minor diameter portion and a major diameter portion like a polygonal tapered hole and tapered from one axial end to the other, the cleaner uniformly following the minor and major diameter portions. SOLUTION: The cleaner cleans the inner peripheral surface 5 of the cavity 2 in the subject of cleaning, the inner peripheral surface 5 consisting of the minor diameter portion 5a and the major diameter portion 5b and being tapered from the one axial end to the other. The cleaner 10 has a cleaning member 13 which uniformly follows and elastically abuts the minor diameter portion 5a and the major diameter portion 5b of the inner peripheral surface 5 of the cavity.
