PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for correcting a position of an OSD of a video device are provided to perform an OSD uniformly and in large scope regardless of a resolution of an inputted image. CONSTITUTION: The first memory(60) stores the upper value and the lower value. A key signal input unit(70) makes a user input all sorts of operation commands including an OSD position adjusting command. An OSD processing unit(80) creates an OSD on the set position. The second memory(90) stores the current display position of the OSD. A horizontal/vertical synchronizing signal counter(100) counts a horizontal/vertical synchronizing signal frequency of an input video signal, A calculating/processing unit(110) controls the OSD processing unit(80) for calculating a resolution of an inputted image by outputting of the horizontal/vertical synchronizing signal counter(100) and for calculating the OSD displaying upper and lower values in accordance with the resolution and for creating the OSD at a position corresponded to a user's OSD position adjusting command inputted through the key signal input unit(70) in the upper/lower value range. |
