PURPOSE: A grille open/shut-off apparatus for window air conditioner is provided to allow the suction grille to be cleaned-up with water, while achieving an aesthetic enhancement. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a front panel(200) installed at the front surface of an air conditioner so as to form an outer appearance of the air conditioner; and a suction grille(300) mounted at the front surface of the front panel so as to be attached/detached to/from the front panel when rotating at a predetermined angle, and which is arranged in such a manner that the boundary line between the suction grille and the front panel is prevented from being exposed. The front panel includes a suction port(212) formed at the center of the front panel; a plurality of insertion openings having a hinge axis mounted at the inside of the insertion opening; a plurality of protrusions(215) for supporting the suction grille when the suction grille is coupled to the front panel; and a plurality of stopper grooves for catching the suction grille when the suction grille is coupled to the front panel.
