PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium in which an adhesive label having a seal image B is not easily released even by adhering the label onto a seal image A of a heat sensitive transferable ink so that the adhesive layer of the label and the image A are superposed by forming the image A on an image receiver by a low printing energy by using the medium having a heat sensitive transferable ink layer containing a wax material as a main body. SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer recording medium comprising the heat sensitive transferable ink layer provided on one surface of a base material, a vehicle in the layer is constituted of a wax material of 65 to 90 wt.% and a resin material of 10 to 35 wt.%, and the ink is the heat sensitive transferable ink exhibiting a viscoelasticity behavior near the ambient temperature and having a temperature change rate of a storage elastic modulus of 20 to 30 deg.C of a temperature range of -15 MPa/ deg.C or less.
