PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method whereby a fatty acid excellent in hue, storage stability, or the like, is obtained at a low cost in a simple and easy manner without using an additive. SOLUTION: In this method, a palm-derived fatty acid is heated at 80-240 deg.C in an oxygen or air atmosphere and then distilled.
