PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile front pillar capable of fully reducing impacts on an obstacle while maintaining the intrinsic rigidity of the front pillar. SOLUTION: In the front pillar 20 formed with a cylindrical cross section, the deforming section 25 of the front pillar is made of a material that is easier to deform than the other section 26 of the front pillar in order to promote deformation of the front pillar 20 in to a vehicle room 29. Thus when an obstacle collides against the front pillar 20, the deforming section 25 is deformed relatively easily. Since the other section 26 of the front pillar is made of a material resisting deformation, the rigidity of the front pillar 20 can be fully assured.
