PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst especially capable of efficiently purifying hydrocarbon among hydrocarbon CO and NOx in the exhaust gas discharged at low temperature just after engine startup. SOLUTION: In an integrated structure type catalyst having a catalyst component carrying layer, a first layer consisting essentially of zeolite is provided on a monolithic carrier, and a catalyst component layer consisting of at least one selected from a group consisting of palladium(Pd), platinum(Pt) and rhodium(Rh) is provided on the first layer as a catalyst component, and the first layer and/or the catalyst component layer contain a superhydrophobic material.
