PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner which is equipped with an expansion pipe body, for refluxing exhausted air from a motor-driven air blower built in the main body of cleaner to a sucker or the like. SOLUTION: In this electric vacuum cleaner, a pipe body 36 is composed of an expansion pipe 39 which is composed of an outer pipe 37 and an inner pipe 38 provided so as to freely slide in respect to the outer pipe 37, and a hose 40 arranged inside the expansion pipe 39 and connected to the outer pipe 37 and the inner pipe 38.
