Paper, especially newspapers, are stacked inside a container and compacted using a plate (13) positioned above the stack, and then a cord (15) secured to the plate and comprising at least two sections is tied around at least two opposite sides of the stack and a side of the stack connecting these two opposite sides. The ends of the cord are secured to the plate in order to form a temporary bundle of paper for recycling. An Independent claim is also included for a method of collecting and handling paper for recycling. |
