METHOD FOR IMPROVING OXIDATION RESISTANCE AND CORROSION RESISTANCE OF METAL IRON PELLET

PURPOSE: A method is provided which improves oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of metal iron pellet by passing through a drying process after coating the pellet by dipping metal iron pellet into a stearic acid solution for a certain time. CONSTITUTION: In a surface treatment method of metal iron pellet, the method for improving oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of the metal iron pellet comprises the processes of dipping the metal iron pellet into a stearic acid solution at a temperature ranging from 70 to 140 deg.C for more than 3 minutes; and drying the dipped metal iron pellet under the inert gas environment of 50 deg.C or less. The method improves resistance against oxidation of metal iron pellet in the atmosphere as well as corrosive reaction generated by the contact of the metal iron pellet with water or seawater.
