PURPOSE: A method for controlling a fuel injection amount when a car engine is started is provided to reduce a correction time in each section in relationship between time and engine rotational frequency during engine starting, to prevent failure of engine starting due to noise generated by various input signals. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a fuel injection amount when the car engine is started includes the steps of detecting rotational frequency of an engine and temperature of cooling water when the engine is started, compensating fuel injection value according to engine rotational frequency based on temperature of cooling water and suction time at the time of engine starting stored in a memory, detecting engine starting time by fuel injection compensated by the compensation value, designating engine starting time rank of the detected engine starting time and calculating a new fuel compensation value by the designated engine starting time rank, and renewing fuel compensation value stored in the memory based on the new fuel compensation value.
